The latest release by bastard boogie tunes is the instrumental album “Lunapark” [bbt 015] from the St. Petersburg project PPVK (Pervy Polyot v Kosmos or First Space Flight), which formed in 2012 and musically combines such traditional styles as new-wave, synth-pop and post-punk along with contemporary chillwave, retrowave and the newly emergent sovietwave. At this stage PPVK is largely a studio project, but still it is difficult to call it exclusively electronic: besides synthesizers, the musicians also use live instruments.
