The maxi-single “Novokuznetsk” [bbt 008] by St. Petersburg's SHORTPARIS is an attempt to reflect on the domestic collective in the context of Russia in 2015.
Having played around enough with Western European art, the musicians are now trying to make sense of the reality in which they exist.
Musically the single lacks the dramatism and exaltation of past works and is arranged with a more restrained dance sound making use of the national language.
